Moving shipping phase to checkout page 1

    As title

I have moved the shipping phase layout to checkout page 1 from checkout page 2, but I just get NETQUOTE values on the site.

    Any ideas ?

    Many Thanks,

    Austin.

      Wow, thats helpful, thanks

No amount of script coding, or nothing can change this ? not in version 9 after I had spent £1000 upgrading ?

Actually I have just found this thread by me, from a while back...

        Old Question Link

I don't mind a hurrendous amount of work, as I don't fancy waiting for version 10 and then having to upgrade and pay again ...

How would you have liked the message delivered? If it was possible, we wouldn't all be clambering for a new streamlined checkout process due in V10.

If you are not happy paying £1000 for V9, then you'd fall on the floor frothing at the mouth if you ever got a quote to change the checkout process for you. Sit tight and wait for V10, probably another grand, but still cheaper than the overhaul.

You can trial any new software for 30 days, you could also ask the forum before you buy. A search of the forum would also illustrate it's a hot topic and one to be addressed in V10. All of these could have happened without a grand spent.

YOU might not mind but it's unlikely you'll get anyone to detail it here if indeed it is even possible!

Don't worry, I have money put by for when my memory actually goes completely ...

Ok, sorry for the rant, I just think the cart, and checkout process is the only thing letting actinic down at the moment ...

Ok, so is there a way of knowing what phase you are on in the "checkout shopping cart grid" layout, I.E. block if checkout phase 1, that way I can not display the shipping cost until checkout phase 2, and that would kind of solve my problem.

You're not alone in your thinking *Hint Hint*

Though you're probably looking around 8-10k for a bespoke solution.

Kind of. But I don't think it'll be that simple.

PageType == "Checkout Page 1" etc.

I guess you can't add a selector to the checkout page, as it doesn't really have any configuration options ?

Ok I've got around this problem for now thanks.

I copied the checkout shopping cart layout and selector to new selectors and took the shipping out of the layouts, and then called the new (no shipping) layouts in checkout page 0, and the old in checkout page 1 ...

Is this for your signature-linked site?

Lovin' the product page with the cool flash gizmo to spin the images, pretty neat.

On a side note, I viewed the Barbie shoe and scrolled down the page - then I seen a nice Google Adsense ad taking me to another site where I could buy the same/similar product. Adsense+Ecommerce is a no-go area, you're giving your potential customers a reason to buy from your competitors (as they use crafty wording for their ads which will draw the customers attention).

-- Thanks. This is actually a version 7 site, the version 9 I am working on is here http://www.1stforbridalshoes.co.uk

I know what you are saying about adsense, but I pull in a few $100 back from google, which goes against what I pay out in adwords ... Our sales are manic, so it doesn't seem to be affecting them. Most of my major competitors are blocked anyway.

                            Cheers !
