Hi i need to change the background template on my site because i have updated the code on the rest of the site (eg the animated map at the top)

how can i update this in actinic? i did this once before by going into dreamweaver and using "regiter design with actinic" however i lost all of the shop layout and had to start again.

can i just change the template html file within the actinic folder? if so where does it hide?

DESIGN | LIBRARY | LAYOUTS | WEB PAGE OUTER LAYOUT will show any external layouts registered.

You can edit the layout directly in Actinic from within the Design tab or you can open edit it in DW by clicking on the button at the bottom of the layout.
