"Related Products" on brochure pages

I've looked around but can't find anyway of doing this.

I want to create brochure information pages (about parrots species) and show recommended products with links to product pages (similar to related products on product pages).

Can anyone suggest a simple way of achieving this without hard coding everything, e.g. from Product ID???

Use fragments that link to your products.

Yes. Clearly I can use individual fragments but this would give a list of products - one per row- and I will still have to enter individual titles and images.

What I ideally want to achieve is a layout similar to the home page mini new products layout, with product title, image and price, all referenced from a set of variables set on a special fragment.

I am sure it can be done with php but I need to know how to reference the product name, image and price from the Product ID or some other variable.

Change 'Column Count for Brochure Fragments' to however many you want in a row. The initial idea posted by Rich is probably your best bet for now - the php master is on vacation.

Lateral Thinking

Thanks guys. Solved it another way. Remembered something Jo mentioned about creating "special [non] product layout" for certain info. Created a new Section (hidden from Section List Menu) and can now create subsections with "special [non] products" containing "Related Products Items".

Can then reference from anywhere in site!
