    Problem with Windows vista

We have windows vista and cannot click on some of the buttons.
In design mode I cannot click on the buttons "Edit layout in dreamweaver" "Edit layout details".
I have changed the resolution but that has unfortunatly made no difference.

Searched forum cannot see anyone else with same issue.

What was the resolution you tried? What version of V8 are you using?

My understanding was only version 9+ is Vista compatible. Although v8 may well work with Vista, compatibility isn't a guarantee (alas nor is it a guarantee with v9!) - I think IIRC the latter releases of v8 (v8.5.2?) is Vista compatible, however.

You say you cannot click on the buttons - why not? Have they disappeared from view? Are they greyed out?

        Tried resolutions below
        1680 x 1080
        1360 x 768
        1280 x 800
        800 x 600
        None work
        Actinic V8.5.3

        Thanks

I can't see the screen resolution making any difference.

          My questions initially are:
          1. What version of DW do you have installed?
          2. Do you have the DW Extension Manager installed? And if so what version of the Actinic extension is installed?
          3. In DW do you have the Actinic button on the top menu?

            Dreamweaver CS3
Yes actinic button is there and works.
The problem is in actinic as the select page type will not work either

Have you already registered a design in Actinic?
You need to have a design registered before you can work back and forth in DW and Actinic.
Also make sure you set your site location in DW to be the site1 folder used by Actinic.

Guys I apreciate your help bu thte issue is not with Dreamweaver it is in actinic.
I merely gave the dreamweaver button as an example there are many buttons that I cannot press.
The mouse goes over the buttons but nothing happens when it is pressed..

It's Vista that's the problem, almost certainly.

I quote from Actinic's help file:
                  • If using Actinic Link or the DreamWeaver integration, Actinic must be installed outside the Program Files folder
                  • DreamWeaver integration does not work if User Account Control of Vista is on

                    OK let's backtrack.
You have Vista and are using v853 - good so far.

Have the buttons always been greyed?
Have you imported a snapshot from your designer or someone else recently?
Are you using Catalog or Business or Client software?
Have you got Catalog Maintenance and Design Changes checked in Setting - Options - Access On This PC?

EDIT - Agree with Jules comments check those first.

The problem I am experiencing is nothing to do with dreamweaver or actinic link as they are installed in the correct folders and working fine..
For example the botton in this image does not work either.
