    Seperate Delivery Address Issue

    Hi all,

In the process of putting my first Actinic site together and I'm within touching distance of it being done, only to stumble across a problem which I can't find any other information about either in the Knowledge Base or here on the Forum.

I want customers to be able to define different invoice and delivery addresses.

On the first checkout page, something odd is happening. In the Design view in Actinic, it shows me the 'Check this box to set a different delivery addres message' with an accompanying checkbox.

When I then publish the site to the test server (http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial55913) the checkbox disappears and is replaced with a 'Change' button and the word 'No'.

This would be fine if it worked, however, clicking on the Change button just dumps me out of the Checkout process to the front of the store and doesn't even make the delivery address display if you return to the Checkout again.

I'm stumped after half a day of experimenting with the Text settings, changing the code in the relevant Layout and even reverting to the original code for the whole of Checkout Page 1.

Any ideas anyone? Any advice gratefully received.

    Thanks,
    Simon

Thanks, fully aware of this and will be integrating with HSBC before going live.

Anyone else got an answer, or am I going to need to leave it until everything is set up on the live box before knowing one way or the other?

Maybe try setting those layouts back to factory default, just in case you have inadvertently changed something along the way.

As jules says - it looks like you have broken your checkout 0 page

Under the Invoice Address in your checkout, you get the following lines:
            Delivery Address
If your order needs to be delivered to a different address, please check this box:No
There should be a tick box, but it looks like it is permanently set to "No". As Darren says, have a look at the "Checkout 0" layout....

Have you got the "Invoice Seperate Check Status" or "Invoice Seperate Delivery Address" show box ticked?

I had the same problem where the option to add a delivery address was not appearing. I thought as I had modified the templates this might be a problem so I set up a brand new Actinic shop with all the default settings. I then uploaded this and the delivery option was available.

I then copied the order 00 bulk area, order 01 bulk area files etc into the relevent Checkout page 0, Checkout page 1 etc in my live shop and then uploaded to the web but the delivery option still did not show.

I went through all the settings between the default shop and my live shop and found in the BUSINESS SETTINGS - TAX section a difference. In the default shop the TAX BY LOCATION was set to TAX BY DELIVERY ADDRESS.
In my live shop I had this set to TAX BY INVOICE ADDRESS so I changed it to TAX BY DELIVERY ADDRESS and then uploaded my site. I then found that the delivery option was now available.

I am not sure what difference the tax settings will make but for me my customers can now select a different delivery address.

If anyone has a better idea I would appreciate hearing about it.

                Regards,

                  Solved!

Thanks to all that have offered advice on this.

After a month of not looking at it (because the client was delaying the project for another reason), I've returned to the problem this evening and found the solution.

In deleting the seperate delivery address checkbox from the Checkout Page 0 template, Actinic was quite rightly thinking that invoice & delivery address were the same. However, the 'Change' button that then appears on Checkout Page 1 refers you back to Checkout Page 0 in order to change the delivery address. Because I'd omitted the checkbox on the previous page, it looked as if Actinic was just dumping me out of the checkout process, when it wasn't.

So, anyway. After reverting a few bits to factory settings and a trawl through the forum for a bit of code I was missing, I'm back up and running.

It's not the most elegant way of allowing a seperate delivery address, but it does what it needs to, I suppose.

Thanks again for all your help.
