    Stock Control - Shelf Life

Cant seem to see a solution yet and seems a bit complicated but would it not be good or is it possible to organise stock control based on the expiry date or shelf life of products?

With food, or in my case seeds, we sometimes have a stock level of one product with a different shelf life. Any products out of date within 12 months are sold as a special offer. There is usually further stock of the same product with a longer shelf life.

For example Cabbage - 3 out of date (special offer sold first) , 50 longer shelf life (removed from special offer).

Could the product stock tab have a variable for the number of products for each date, the first to be sold being the older items - ideally this date would be added when adding new stock?

At the moment the only options I see are doing this manually or creating new products for each date. (Not product duplicates - these pick up the same stock levels). Both of these are very time consuming.

    Any ideas welcome!

In theory this is an awesome idea - but I doubt the functionality for it will ever be built into Actinic as I presume the 'wanted' level is minimal. I haven't even seen any cart which can do this.

What we tend to do with perishable goods which we sell online (fish foods) - is sell them with a minimum 12-month 'Best Before' date. Anything below that goes in a clearance bin in the physical store, if we wanted we could add it to a specific section and reduce it but this could never prove cost effective in our case.
