I have crystal reports 8.5 sat in a box waiting for me to get around to installing it, but not having not used Crytsal Reports I assumed that it would simply pull the data including the <br/> tag directly from Actinic because the <br/> tag is displayed in the Actinic Order Screen.

My assumption was that I the <br/> tag would need to be stripped out before it hits the order screen display.

It does get the data from the database but you can 'manipulate' it in CR before displaying it in the report.

The only other way would be to create a query to run on the database that you could run after downloading. You can run this form a simple vbs script file on the desktop or (I think) if you are using Mole-End software can be set to run automatically after downloading orders. This would fix the problem in the order screen as well as the report but there's obviously other risks involved with possible errors in your script.

You can use the following basic script file as an example to base this on:

Crystal Reports V8.5 installed and I have read through the quick start chapter of the user guide and thumbed through the rest. I can see how to change fonts, colours, insert text and move things around but am yet to see how the manipuation can be done to remove the <br/> tags.

Would you be kind enough to give a couple of pointers in the right direction, i.e what do I need to read up on, etc.

I assume the field in question is OrderDetail.sProductDescription

Take a look at the invoices report and right click on @OrderTotalCost and Edit Field Object. That will give you a flavour of a string formula.
