database in unexpected state

I am also in an unexpected state having got this error message when I try and open actinic epos solo.

when opening msg says: database converted using dao compact method instead of convert database command.
database partially converted.

I have not tried to convert anything and I cannot even open actinic to try the fix it suggests which is "create new database and import tables and quieries"

I have no idea what any of this means except I cannot use my till on a saturday !!
Can anyone help please

I'm not an EPOS user but - Can you restore from a backup?

cant open

unfortunately I cannot even open the actinic programme or are you suggesting I totally re-install it ?
The problem is I dont have a recent back up !!
