Why do I sometimes get a space between the Component Detail and the drop down box and sometimes it is right underneath. I would like it to remain constant - any ideas what I have done wrong? Pic attached to show what I mean

It's to do with the length of your label, I think you will only see it on long names due to the way the containing table is setup. Shorten the names or getting stuck in on the html producing that part of the layout are the only options. Look to set its width, NOT to 100%, as that will usually wrap it underneath, you need to set a specific width.
