Drop down list showing subsections

Hi, I'm a newbie to Actinic and currently creating a site for a client that requires ecommerce. I've found the software really intuituve so far but they've now requested the site displays a drop down list of the subsections when the appropriate section is clicked. Can anyone help me? I've been looking through the advanced manual and although theres a section on how to implement a drop down menu i'm still struggling with

1) Getting only one drop down to appear once the user has clicked the appropriate section

2) Getting the subsections to appear rather than the sections.

Sorry if I sound obtuse, I really could do with a point in the right direction.

Have a look on drillpine.biz and buy an addon to do it for you instead. Norcascade or the accordion menu will do what you want.

If you are feeling competent you could try implementing the accordian.js script, take a look on Dynamic Drive for details, it is very easy to add in to Actinic. Also take a look on the forum at the PHP Navigation code from Gabriel Crowe

hi, we are thinking about accordian style menu,
how does it affect search engines googling the site
static links have always been best i thought

They are static links, the relevant containing divs are set to display:none when the page loads.

The accordion menu is brilliant, and customisable to boot! Only problem i've found so far is that when you click on a button that has subcontent, it doesn't display the page associated with that button. you have to click on one of the subitems first. is there anyway of correcting this? i have seen it on another site working as it should so it may be a setting i've missed or something i've not done correctly.

Post the URLs of the examples of 'working as it should' and not and we can look at the code differences.
