Adding Image at top of a section isse

Hello again.

I want to add an image at the top of a product section, and have created a variable to do this, and edited it into the code in the content page.

The issue I cant resolve is that I only want it to appear on the first section, not then each sub section. For example, if I have TOWELS as a section, I wanted a nice introduction image at the top, with the sub sections below.

The problem now is that when you click on a sub section eg WHITE TOWELS, the image is still at the top, and this continues to the product page.

How do I control this so that the image appears only in the first tier (section)?

You may have gone the way too complicated route, remove all you have done and just add a fragment instead i'd recommend, select image only as the layout for it, and add your image as normal.

If the image shows below your sections, switch your sub section list layout settings in site options the other way round. Top to bottom and vice versa.
