Resizing Images

Is there any code I can add to my Actinic shop to automatically resize images to standard size.

say 250 px x 250 px for the product image
500 px x 500 pox fopr extended images

and 125 px x 125 px for section images.

I have images from all over the place, and I would like the website to resize them not me.

Fixing the width or height in teh layout will do it but will waste bandwidth. Otherwise you can do it locally with some php code - you should be able to find some around on the net.

Easiest though is just to batch resize. Once set up it takes just seconds to resize a few hundred at a time.

Unless your images are the same ratio resizing automatically will distort the image to get it to your square size... if they are rectangular you need to edit these manually to get the best results.. if they are already square aspect you can batch convert as Duncan points out to save you time... there are plenty of free software which can do this for you.

If you use Fastone Photo Resizer you set the canvas size as well as the image size and thus maintain the aspect ratio.
