Actinic v9.0.4 Beta - Arghh!!!!

Hi all,

I was having issues with my 0.3. version (exceptionally slow content tree - which I see there is a post about) so thought I'd try the 0.4. beta.

After installing I have been unable to accept card payments (I have changd OCC files and updated etc.). I called support who said 04 wasn't supported so I should go back to the previous version.

However, I have now tried twice to import an earlier snapshot - but it won't let me! After each time I go to 'about' and it says I'm still running 04. Slightly concerned to say the least as no-one can order from my site!

Any ideas from anyon how I get back to a working version?

To go back you have to un-install 9.0.4, then install 9.0.3 and import your snapshot.

Thanks Mike - I'll try that, but forgive my ignorance - how do I do that?
In add/Remove pogramms I can only see Actinic V9 at 622 meg?

That's what you need to uninstall.
First checking in Start > Programs to see if Actinic has its own uninstaller (I honestly can't remember offhand)

It is clearly documented and warned NOT to use a beta on a live site.

You may find that you need to tweak the .mdb database as well. We played around on a test site and found that even after uninstalling 9.04 and reinstalling 9.03 and importing a 9.03 snapshot, the database still had SagePay instead of Protx and the urls would not work.

Thanks - having to uninstall 622 megs of Actinic!
The previous version had ground to a halt and was unusable for me (took me 4 hours to create 6 new products and I have another 30 to get up there) and support didn't give me any solution to the problem (saying they didn't know the problem) - so yes - I tried the new version!
I will uninstall the entire software and start again, or this might be a good opportunity to try a different a e-commerce software.
