Promotional items on homepage

Hi,
I know its possible to add 'new product' and 'special products' on the homepage but I have no idea how to achieve the following.
I would like to add a sub banner under the mail banner with two 'special items' in. Just the image, price and title would be shown.
I'm designing the site in DW if that helps but the special items will need updating in Actinic.

Add a fragment for each, choose the layout to use and then use the link tab on each fragment to do the link. Select the brochure page to set the column count. Don't use DW at all.
