    product organisation / shop layout

    hi all

i've got a section/sub-section/product organisation related question and wonder if you can offer pointers.

my design calls for the following and needs 1 product per page:

    womens (section)
    walking (sub-section)
    automatic (sub-section)
    product1 (sub-section)
    product2 (sub-section)
    manual
    product1
    product2
    folding
    automatic
    product1
    product2
    manual
    product1
    product2

    etc etc.

initially i've created the above as sections and sub-sections, the products are sub-sections with a single product in them.
my problem is i need to be able to navigate and show the products gradually refining based on that navigation.

    so, for example:
when i click on womens/walking i'll see all the automatic AND manual products. but then if i click womens/walking/automatic
i need to only see the automatic products.

the problems arising are that i can't find a consistant way with the built in lists to access the products and list them with the given structure.
one potential solution i've thought of is to make the product pages extended info windows and style that 'window' using the site template (and open it in the same window).
then i can use product duplicates at the different levels to give the listing of products at the different levels.

does that sound reasonable or should i be looking to do this another way?

apologies for a long post but i felt the detail was required

    thanks in advance

If you want certain things to be seen when a click is initiated, then those certain things need to be subsections of the section you are about to click on. It works the same as a family tree.

When you select a section, it does not show you that section, it shows you what is inside it.

Dont forget that for every click to get to the product you give the customer another chance to say sod this I'M off
