    Moving to fasthosts

We are considering upgrading our V9 websites (already with fasthosts) to a new dedicated server...

Has anyone had any experience with this at all or know of any problems that may arise?

    Thanks.

Webfusion, UKFast or Pinbrook would be my best advice for a UK-based dedicated server if price is an issue.

        Hi

we are running on a fasthost, it works but can be painful, it is important to establish which version of perl they are running on the new server as there is a bug in the perl which impacts on Actinic, see KB ~ Perl bug causes script error. There may be other issues.

We are stuck at the moment but planning to move to another server.

        Good luck M

Fasthosts dedicated servers are unmanaged, which may not be what you require, depending on your ability

As well as unmanaged there is no SLA for hardware repair, others have posted here to say they have had to wait days.

i note this on the site

            Personal engineer support service: 9am - 6pm, Monday - Friday (£60 per 30 mins)
            evenings? weekends?

I dont think there is a backup service either
