    Stale lock errors

    Since upgrading to v9 I've noticed rather a lot of stale lock errors in the error log page. I've read up about them on here and while I understand why they occur I'm wondering if there's a way of stopping them from happening as I'm worried it may be affecting customers when trying to update their shopping carts.

    Has anyone had the problem and managed to make it disappear from the error log?

    it might be helpful if you summarised your research into lock errors and tell us more about the problem

      Well Chris from Actinic posted this about stale lock errors, which explains why the problem would be listed on the error log page but doesn't explain if there's anything that can be done to resolve the problem:

      A lock file is created whenever the cart contents are updated or an order placed. Usually they are deleted straight away as soon as the action is completed. If there is any problem with deleting them straight away they are marked as 'stale' and deleted later on.
