Actinic allowing checkout with unlimited quantities in basket (way over stock limit!)

    Hi all.

I have two sister sites - essentially a retail and wholesale versions. The retail site was built first and is live and working ok. The wholesale site appears to be having some problems. When on the retail site a customer adds more quantity than is available of a given product it will highlight the erroneous quantity box and present the user with an error:

The following product(s) can not be added to the cart.
You can find the error description(s) by following the link(s).

The wholesale site doesn't seem to be doing this at all. Stock monitoring is switched on on all the products.

There are some differences between the sites. The biggest difference is that wholesale customers are required to log in. The shipping and tax rules are also different.

There is a further problem with both sites that if you set a max quantity on a product and try to add above that quantity to the basket you get an Internal Server Error in ca00000x.pl.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Just checking - is the "maximum quantity orderable" field set to the same as "stock level" for all products too?

Are you able to see the apache error log for your server to get the details of the Internal Server Error?

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. Yes - was just about to write about noticing that. It's not keeping the number in stock in sync with the max quantity...

      The logs didn't say much:

          Actinic doesn't do this automatically.
Downloading an order which depletes stock will alter the "in stock" stock level but won't change the "max qty" orderable figure so will allow over-ordering, if not monitored.

Only way I've got round this is to use Mole Ends Stock Control Mole which has a setting to alter the max qty, in line with the stock figure, on download.
