Product Duplicate

I've just found the product duplicate by accident and just wanted to double check how it works. Does it create 2 products that are running from the same stock but allow you to list them in different sections with both affecting the stock level when ordered or does it just creat an identical listing with its own stock level?

It is the same product shown duplicated. You can control what properties are available to be changed independently of the master product by going to Settings - Duplicate Fields Configuration.

The stock however will always be as the master product - as there only is one product in reality.

Also if a customer places an order for the duplicate online, the actual product is put into the cart, so if for example you have changed the duplicate name, you won't see that name in the cart you will see the actual product name.
