Is it ok to build a new site in V8 then Upgrade to V9

Hi Every One

We are going to start building a new site in V8 as we have a spare copy.

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem from building a new site in actinic V8 and when we have finish upgrade to V9?

V8 to v9 was relatively harmless IIRC, though it makes me wonder - if you're going to upgrade to v9, why not upgrade to v9 then build the site in v9?

Yes you could argue that since you will upgrade to 9 you might as well jump straight into 9 as you will have to go through the upgrade path, have you got cover or will you be paying for the upgrade software?

if you will be paying for 9, and really want to stay on 8 for now, then the simple answer is yes.

i'm still using 8.5.3 in my view its the most stable release. I still consider 9 to be beta. There's too many bugs still there.

in which case its pointless, unless of course 10 is out by the time you have finished - but if you plan on upgrading to every major release when buying cover is more sensible
