    Adding a Useful links page

Hello! This is my first post to this forum. I have tried searching previous posts but I can't find the answer to the problem that I am really struggling with - can anyone help please?

I am trying to add a new page to this website http://www.burgess-uk.com/acatalog/index.html

Right now I have managed to add a fragment which appears on the base bar but it's displaying all the link list underneath which is not looking good.

I have tried as well to add a new section althought it would be misplaced the only option available seems to add a new product with the links appearing in place of the description.

This is only a temporary solution before changing the look and feel of the website as we would like to add more awareness.

I would like to apologise if I have missed any answer regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello Philippe

A simple way of doing this would be the following -

Create a new brochure page by right clicking on your home page and selecting "new brochure page".

Then create a fragment on this Brochure page, again right clicking and this time selecting new fragement.

Then in the fragment details if you select links you can add some link text which will appear on the page and link this either to an external site or to a product/section within your site.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks

      Thanks Chris

I have followed what you are explaining but it's still doesn't work when I try to preview.

It seems that the actual architecture of the snapshot works without a specific homepage as I have dirctly the listing of the categories.

When I'm adding the brochure page to the root page (index.html) the file that I named Useful Links appear on top of index with an home icon as if it was creating an homepage for the site even thought I didn't tick the option.

I have as well followed the instructions and created a fragment page which contains a text link and when I'm trying to preview offline the link doesn't work.

When I looked for the first time to the website I had a look directly into the server using a FTP approach and the actual homepage is only a redirection to the acatalog. Some elements such as the About Burgess are not displayed when I enter via the snapshot in Actinic.

It looks to me like there is a mix between the Ecommerce part of the website and some pure HTML.

      Thanks.

        Hi Phil,

Is this the sort of thing you want? http://www.competitiveheatingsupplie...log/links.html

If so you need to put the relevant html in the fragment>general>text box

        E.g
        Code:

!!<<a href="http://www.competitiveheatingsupplies.co.uk " target="_blank">Central Heating Supplies</a>>!! Competitive Heating Supplies deliver cheap central heating and bathrooms throughout the uk
Leave a line and then put the next link in and so on.

Notice the !!< >!! at the beginning and end of the code. This is required for the code to be used correctly in Actinic
        Regards,

        Keith

          Thanks Runner

This is exactly what I try to achieve.

I'm going to test it right away and edit this post when it's done.

The only thing I'm still worried with being where will I add the Useful Links button.

Edit : This is it, I have created the page for the Useful Links http://www.burgess-uk.com/acatalog/usefulinks.htm

The link is not established yet from the homepage but it's going to be done only on the next step.

          Thanks for all the help.
