Add to Cart error

Hi

Am in the process of testing the cart facility, I've found that if I add to cart (see attached) the note that "forward to next page" doesn't!! It actually takes you straight back to the original product page (also the "or click here" does the same). http://www.itchannelsecuritycentre.co.uk

I think that's what it is supposed to do, but it's just badly worded. We changed it in V7 so that there are buttons under the cart to allow you to checkout, update the cart, or return to the shop, which we thought was more useful.

I'd tell you what we did but it's in V7 and V9 will be different. Hopefully a V9 expert will come along and help......

It is actually doing what it's supposed to do, but you can change it.

Either

a) set your bounce delay (Design -> Design Options) to 0, in which case you are taken to the Cart and stay there

Or

b) change the wording in Design -> Text (Phase -1 ID 23) to something you prefer

In Actinic go to Design - Text - Click 'Go to' and enter Phase as -1 and ID as 23 and OK.
You can then modify the text and link as required.

OK it looks like V9 is very much like V7 in this respect. If you go into V9 Design then Options, a dialog box will come up. In Shopping Mode at the top, you have "Quantity on Product Page" ticked - this allows the shopper to define how many they want before adding to cart. If instead you tick "Quantity in Cart", the box where you change the number of items you want appears in the shopping cart rather than the product page, and you get the buttons on the cart page such as "Continue Shopping", "Checkout Now" etc, which we think is much better.

You'll still get the various buttons below the cart regardless of which option you choose for "Quantity in Cart" or "Quantity on Product Page" - it's more to do with whether you show the full cart or not when your customers click "Add to Cart". By reducing the bounce delay to 0 as described by guccij your customers will get the full cart (just as if they clicked the View Cart button) rather than just the bounce page.

Good point Richard, we will be changing our site to "Quantity on Product Page" with a bounce of 0. This allows the shopper to change the quantity on both the product page and the cart, which is even better (plus the buttons on the cart page).
