Orders - Sorting by Date Ordered

    Hi, i'm using catalog v8.5.3.

Until recently (well probably three or four months ago, I have only just now bothered to query it because it is getting a bore to do) , actually when I was still on v8.5.2. When I opened Actinic and went to the Orders tab; It would display the latest order at the top of the list and the first order last.

Now it always shows the first order at the top and the latest order last.

I cannot find a way to set the order that the Orders are dispalyed. SO, each time I open Actinic I have to click the Date Ordered tab to sort the orders to show the latest first.

I hope this makes sense as I have had a few glasses of vino.
    Regards,

    Keith

Have you got a copy of Access?

If so, close Actinic, open your Site folder, take a backup of ActinicCatalog.mdb - then open the database in Access, then (depending on your version of Access):

Tools » Database Utilities » Compact and Repair Database

In Access 2007 IIRC you click the Office icon in the top-left corner, then 'Settings' or similar, and then Compact and Repair.

    Close Access then re-open Actinic.

Click the Date Ordered heading to sort by Date Ordered, close Actinic, re-open and see if it stored your preferred setting.

You can compact and repair the database by using the command on the housekeeping menu as well.

Actinic remembers the last order you used for the order tab, so if you click on the orders tab, it should resort to the direction you want, then if you exit Actinic and open it up again it should remember it.

Thanks for the advice Jan. This is the order I tried:

          1. Sort orders by Date Received (newest first)
          2. Compact database
          3. Close Actinic
          4. Open Actinic

Orders are still displayed oldest first?
          Regards,

          Keith

I think this is just how it is in v8 (from memory).

Maybe it's a windows thing. Other programs I have (that use a similar table) do the same thing.
