Stock Control, Permutations and Out of Stock Messages

    Hi,

I've trawled through the forums but have been unable to find the answer to what I suspect is a relatively common problem.

I am using a component to display the permutations of our products (in this case t-shirts sizes). Stock control itself is working fine, my problem is that I want an 'OUT OF STOCK' message to show in place of the sizes once they are all sold out.

I also want to remove the 'Add to Cart' button once the last permutation is gone.

I've tried adding the OUT OF STOCK message to the EMPTY LIST field in the Component LIST LAYOUT SETTINGS but this does nothing.

I've also experiemnted with adding the ADD TO CART varialbe to the end of the list to make it disappear when the list is empty but that didn't work either.

I've found similar threads that seem to answer these problems but it just won't work for me. I've even gone as far a licensing a new site and trying on a fresh canvas so to speak but with no luck.

Any suggestions would be very well received.

    Kind regrds,
    Dave

It will be in either the AUG, the KB or both how to get the OOS message to show. I'm not so sure you will get it to interact with the add to cart button once all sold out though.

Come on Stevie, open your mince pies. There's a reference list within 2 inches of your question.

          Who's Stevie?

I've checked the knowledge base. The best it can is put an OUT OF STOCK message against each out of stock permutation. What I was hoping to do was continue hiding out of stock options until all options are out of stock and then display one ALL SIZES OUT OF STOCK message.

Furthermore I'd like to hide the add to cart button when this fully out of stock status is reached.

          Anyone?

          Cheers,
          Dave

I think Lee was referring to Stevie Wonder....

I believe this has been discussed before and the proposed solution was to use some javascript to hide the <div> containing the dropdown list with an "Out of Stock" message and similarly hide the Add to Cart button when the zero stock condition is reached.
