    Cart layout in Test Mode

I have searched the forum but cannot find an answer.

I have uploaded some layout changes in Test Mode. All pages are displaying correctly except cart, contact form, checkout.

Here is the url: Please look at the contact form or cart from here
Note url removed as no longer active

I'm not sure if this is something to do with Test Mode or a layout issue?
    Regards,

    Keith

Your robots.txt isn't blocking the /acatalog/test/ folder - get that addressed asap.

Your domain.co.uk/acatalog gives a Forbidden error - acatalog/index.html provides a 404 - you should also consider creating a redirect to acatalog/shop.html to solve this.

Have compared both live and test sites - the <head> section seems completely different, consider reverting back if possible. I do recall this happening a long time ago but can't recall the fix

How does the Checkout/Contact page appear in Design mode? (ie. offline preview)

      Hi,

robots.txt is only blocking cgi-bin as it always has.

I can't see a problem with the live site. I have just had an order from it also, placed approx 20 mins ago.

Offline preview of contact form is good with header and side columns etc displaying correctly.
      Regards,

      Keith

The problem is search engines will crawl both /acatalog/productpage.html and /acatalog/test/acatalog/productpage.html = duplicate content. Place a rule to block access to /acatalog/test/. Visitors can still view it, but search engines will be blocked, thus, no duplicate content penalties.

How are you changing the Design? Have you installed Actinic on another machine and imported your snapshot, or just switching to Test mode on the live site machine and changing the design? If on another machine, try change the Script ID (in Network Settings) and Refresh the site.

Hi, I am switching to test mode on the live site machine. I don't intend to leave the test site up as I have to switch to production mode to download orders. As I understand it when you switch from Test to production Actinic removes all the test files from the server. But I will block access to the test folder anyway.

I've checked the contact form on the test site in firebug and it says there are no styles for this element.

Edit: I've spoken with my host and he seems to think that the reason the contact form, cart etc are not formatting in Test Mode is due to the deep file structure of the test files on the server. So, I'm going to upload the site live. I can always re-instate the previous snapshot if it doesn't work. I will post results later....

Later... Edit: Well that didn't work

          Any help appreciated.
          Regards,

          Keith

Cart, checkout & contact form still not laying out. Back in Test Mode now. It's all functioning ok but just not using the css for some reason.

            Any ideas?

It's odd because those pages have the correct basehref and the css style sheet is where it's supposed to be.

I wonder if it's because you're defining the basehref after you're specifying the css location. I would think that logically this should be defined before you start specifying file locations.

I thought the <head> area wasn't the same, looking at some Actinic sites both product and checkout pages define the base href before the css

Yes default basehref had slipped into <body>. i have moved it to above css in <head>. Just waiting for site upload. Will post result asap.......
