Actinic Tapi / CTI integration

Hi all,

I have a client with an Actinic based websales site, and we have been approached to install a telephone system for them in their office.

They would like Actinic to "screen pop" the correct client record on the PC screen when the incoming call is presented to the phone - There are a number of different phone systems I can specify which will provide a standard TAPI / CTI interface which works straight out of the box with CRM packages such as Goldmine / ACT / Outlook - does anyone know if Actinic V9 supports TAPI or has any interface to allow a customers record to "screen pop" on an incoming call ?

This could be a great feature to add to the Actinic package - it could effectively bring in a whole new level of users (think: warehouse/distributors) - but sadly, this is out of the equation for the near future.

I can't think of any way to get actinic to pop up the most recent order.

Actinic uses a standard Access database though so a halfway house might be possible. It should be possible with a little programming to search the database on the incoming phone number and produce a record on screen with the customer details and all their previous orders.

This would be a big help in knowing which order the customer was calling about then being able to go straight to the order in actinic as you'd know the order number and date.

It might also be posible to go to any order from the halfway house by clicking on it. This would need to fire a macro that would:

- Copy the order number to the clipboard
- Make actinic the active program
- 'CTRL F' to open the order find screen.
- 'CTRL V' to Paste the order number in.
- 'RTN' and actinic will highlight the order.

Actinic would probably need to in the 'pending and completed' order screen for this to work properly. I'm not aware of how to to this other than manually.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was really hoping that this would be something included with Actinic, or at least in development. It shouldn't be a difficult thing for the developers to add standard Tapi support
