    Two Tier Pricing

Is it possible to set up either V8 or V9 Business (or Business Plus) with a wholesale area that does not require a logon and with a different (substantially higher) minimum order than the retail area?

This would offer wholesale pricing to anyone who was placing a substantial order without the need for wholesale accounts to be set up and managed.

Essentially the aim would be to offer different product pricing, visible to all, for people who are making a very large order.

    Thanks,

What would stop everyone using the cheaper of the two price bands? Nothing. The user log-in feature effectively guarantees a normal customer can't buy at the same cost as trade/wholesale/account users.

Business Plus would allow you to create two shops - you could then effectively have two different stores (using the same data) but on two different domains - one for retail, one for trade.

Keep to one area and one site and just have quantity based pricing schedules in place. 1-5 = £5, 6-20 = £4.50, 20+ = £4 etc. Retail people won't buy the quantities required for cheap pricing and businesses will, what could be quicker and easier to setup? One site with discounts based on quantities, if business want to buy small amounts and pay retail price, excellent.

Thanks for the responses on this.

The idea was indeed that anyone could have the lower band pricing, but that this would only be available if they were buying over a total purchase of maybe 10 times the standard "retail" order.

We'll have a look at the individual product pricing option where larger quantities are given "trade" pricing.

It's immaterial how many times more it is, as you set the amounts and the corresponding prices anyway.
