    What does an upload affect?

    Hi All

    I have a basic question.

I am planning on doing an auto upload using the command line prompts.

When an upload occurs in this way, does it affect any users on the web site who may be browsing pages or making a purchase?

    Thanks

This depends on what changes you're uploading. If it's only stock changes and product additions then it shouldn't affect anything. If however you are deleting products then of course this may affect orders in progress for those orders.

If you want to be 100% sure then you should suspend ordering wait 30 minutes, download orders, and then upload changes. Most people however just take the chance and upload regardless - on all but very large traffic sites this would be a very small risk.

      Thanks for the reply

It would only be buyers information, so I should be OK.

I am only doing this because I need an online registration process which checks data in another application. Therefore my application will validate a request via another web site and initiate Actinic to perform an upload.

      Can't think of another way.

Do you know if the /u command line does a refresh or complete upload?

Just an upload, as far as I am aware.
