    Changes on 2 Computers

I have a very limited knowledge of Actinic 8 and would like some advice about making changes on a second computer.

Is it possible to make changes to an actinic website on a second computer using only dreamweaver, then upload the files and somehow import the changes into the actinic software on the first computer so that subsequent changes do not overwrite the dreamweaver changes.

To give more specific details, what I have tried to do is help a friend install Google analytics on his actinic site. I downloaded his site via ftp, did a find/replace across all files to put the google code before the body tag and uploaded. It worked fine until he made a change using the actinic software and it removed my changes. Is there an option on the v8 software to somehow save the latest "live" version into the software to avoid the changes being removed? If not, is there another solution that you can recommend to make changes on two seperate computers (in different locations) or to install analytics easily?

    Many Thanks

The best way round this, IMO, is to actually make the changes at your friend's computer, tbh.
Either in person or remotely via LogMeIn or similar
Uploading Actinic will always overwrite what you have done, otherwise.

Or download a trial copy of Actinic, have him send you a snapshot, import, make the changes (using the Google Analytics facility in Actinic), send him the updated snapshot to upload. If I've read your problem correctly that should work

I'm not sure you can import/export a snapshot using the trial version though, can you?
Or was it just V9 that doesn't?

As it is the same site URL you can use the friends license and install the full biff version of Actinic... just as everyone else who works at home and office
