    V9 And Vista

I am looking at getting a new desktop to run Actinic. Can anyone give me an honest opinion on V9 and Vista?

Hold your hosses and wait for Windows 7 IMO.

there are offers on at the moment from various retailers that if you purchase vista you will get the equivalent windows 7 free of charge when it is released.
Personally i dont mind vista for my home pc. i installed actinic business v9 on it without any problems.

As Lee said hold on i would, or you can by windoz 7 at a discounted rate if you pre order today

i have already run v9 on win7 rc and it ran with no problems not sure if actinic can comment on it.

IMHO win7 is what vista was suppose to have been

Well I'm personally not replacing my laptop until W7 is out

We've tested Actinic on W7 and it seems pretty good, with I think one minor niggle that's already been reported on community.

i think the minor niggle is selecting more than one sub section/products and trying to move them to other sections.
actinic drops or window 7 drops some or all the sections

                    Vista

Having used both a desktop and a laptop with Vista installed, personal experience says vista=slow. I can't comment on W7 as I have not tried it but all reports say it's faster than Vista. Wait for W7 I would say. Vista is not a good o/s.

Vista is wonderful---I'm stunned---someone that likes Vista.............
If Microsoft could only make Windows as stable bug free and fast as UNIX.

                          LOL

Actually i use vista alot and personally i do like it for alot of things over XP but then XP also has alot of things i like over vista. I do use many flavours of windoz so i guess i am lucky to be able to see how it has grown.

Yup. Although I think I might even have used Windows 3.0 on my first home PC. A 386sx at 25 MHz with a 20MB hard disk.

Thinking back though, that might have been running Gem. I maybe didn't get windows 3.1 until later.
