    External linking to Access 2007

    Hello,

I have, for a long time, linked Actinic to my external database (Access 2000).

I have so far been using V8, but have just downloaded V9 on to a new PC, and at the same time, loaded MS Office 2007. I have copied across my snapshot and database, and am now unable to like the two.

On looking at the help file for external linking, I see that Access 2007 is not on the list. Can this be right??? If so, why?

    Thanks,

    Rosalyn

    Hi,

I have spoken to the chaps at Actinic, and have been informed that it is NOT possible to link to Access 2007, as the database file has changed from .mdb to .accdb, and Actinic is unable to support this. I can, of course save the database as an Access 2003 file, but think this is a very clumsy way of working (although I don't have much choice!). The reason that Actinic has not been adapted to cope with the new database format is that "hardly anyone uses Access 2007". I don't know how accurate this statement is, but I am adding this to the wish list, and would ask anyone who does use Access 2007 (even if you don't wish to link to it) to add their weight to my request!

    Thanks,

    Rosalyn
