General Script Error on Check Out

    Hi

I have been receiving this message when people try to check out,

    A General Script Error Occurred

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: The specified product (reference 1110) has just been removed from the catalog. Please return to the catalog and continue shopping. If you press the Refresh or Reload button on your browser, the removed products will no longer be visible in the catalog. We apologize for the inconvenience.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

Nothing has been removed from the site, and it all still shows on the site, but it is impossible to purchase anything, any advice please.

I would recommend that you try and refresh the site first of all to see if that solves the issue to be honest - might solve it and be done with it.

Change the script number and then do a website purge and refresh from the troubleshooting menu. If that doesn't work, import your last working snapshot and see if that works. If that doesn't work, sit in the corner crying.

Very weird behavior. Your site seems fine in Internet Explorer, but I get the error in Firefox. Then when I retried in IE, the error was present. Perhaps some sort of cookie issue.

I also see this bit of code at the very beginning of every page:
            Code:
            <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
I've never seen this before and don't know if it's responsible or not.

              Hi

That coding has been there since day 1, it's one of the things on the long long list of change that needs to be done.

Did you try the check out??
Thats where the error appears, i am using ordinary IE latest version, and it won't go to check out

have you tried a full purge and refresh as Lee suggest? A regular upload will not have the same effect if the scripts are nadged.

This facility is available in all versions .. in v8

web > network setup > common settings

... bump the CGI Script ID to 2

then under Help > Trouble Shooting ... "website purge and refresh"

This will replace all the .cat and .fil files (amongst other) which are used by Actinic to hold the product information and should resolve the issue.

Typically you would tick all 3 of the boxes... but if you tick the first any plugins from Norman for example may stop working .. start with the bottom 2 ticked and then delete & refresh
