ENTERPRISE 9.0.4 - Single product per page

Hi there
I'm after a utility that will convert sections that have multiple products in them into a single-product-per-page layout automatically.

I'm using Actinic Enterprise 9.0.4 and currently have quite a number of sections with more than one product in them (especially my Spare Parts sections).

Do any of you developers have a utility that will do this that works on Enterprise 9.0.4 (using SQL database) ?

Would doubt that a utility exists that would work on Enterprise's MS SQL data for this (but may stand corrected). I had a similar issue in Enterprise which meant the good old drag and drop was needed, but a bug with drag n drop meant loss of section information (not 100% certain if this is fixed in release version of Ent? So test on non important prod if you do this). Solution in the end was to export the site to a file and then manually work through the file and then import it back in, but caution is the key obviously.

Other solution might be to write SQL queries in the SQL Server Management Studio - but ever cautious one should be

You can export your product details in an Actinic flat file format using this tool :

Then all you would need to do would be to modify the section path (using a find and replace probably) to add the extra directory name and reimport.

You could also do something similar with SQL or if you contact us I could have a look at writing the SQL for you (there would be a small charge).

ok so the Mash method does not sound very automatic - several clicks and typing per product.

I would be interested in an automatic method if someone could create one.

Using the mash would be a workaround - it does what it is designed to do automatically. However it certainly wouldn't be several clicks and typing per product, I would say that it would take around 1/2 an hour to do what would be required (plus the time taken to import to Actinic), slightly longer if you needed to work only on certain sections.

Ok well what is the process then? Sell it to me as a solution!!

Say I have fifty sections, each one with 20 products in it - how would these be converted to single product sections using the method you describe - what is the actual procedure. I already have RSI and I want to be sure that this is not going to end up being a click-fest. You say its not so please tell the what the actual procedure whould be.

Also, what about images, layout choice, meta tags etc etc

She has also offered a workaround which would be useful for yourself or others if you had time and not money.

as you may have surmised there is no off the shelf ready to go solution at present

Yes, well done, that's correct - what I asked for is clarification on how the workaround would work if I opted to PAY for the Mash product.

There really is no need for you to chip in and add nothing to the conversation (except to try and shut me up) - I was simply asking how the workaround would work, if there was lots of work involved - she already said it did not require lots of clicking but what was unclear was how that was possible.

I am perfectly happy to pay for a product - but as stated there is no demo version availble for my build so I think I am entitled to get clarification.

i thought long and hard before i posted as this community has been cleaned up recently of extraneous and useless comment. i was very aware you would feel i was butting in, but i felt your tone was very dismissive of the help offered.
