Email Newsletter Opt-in on checkout?

Hi

I want to add a tickbox for customers to advise whether they want to opt in to email newsletters or not on the basket pages (Think its page three where the "how did you find us?" etc fields are)

Looked on the forum and knowledgebase but cant find anything. Is it possible to have a tickbox, and then for that info tbe passed through with the order? At the moment I have just added a field saying "type NO to if you do not wish to receive our email newsletter" but looks sloppy.

In V9 an opt-out text box can be switched on in "Checkout Page 1"

To turn it on go to:

Design | Text | Website (Cont) | Invoice Privacy Check Status, and tick the box to "show" on the website. The message displayed can also be modified by changing the Prompt value in the same place to suit your requirements.
This could be amended to an opt-in box if preferred.

On "Customer" tab of a downloaded order a tick box is displayed showing whether the customer ticked the box or not.
