Multiple Product Columns

A quick question please:

In V9 Business Plus 9.0.4, when you go to
Section Details | Layout | Product | Column Count For Products,
and you change it to, say '2' and click apply,

is it supposed to change instantly?

This is what it says elsewhere on the forum, and in the KB, and in Help.

Mine doesn't do anything at all, am I doing something wrong?

Are you using the Column Count Variable in your layout?

Go to the section list layout area of the code (orange text). Click on the Edit Rows and Columns tabs and look in the first column "No of items".

It should reference the Column Count variable. I have seen this changed to a number previously which will give the user the desired effect, but disables the area of the software you mention.

PITA, seriously close to dropping V9 after the most frustrating fortnight of perseverance, persistence and forum searching....

Rich, you were probably spot on but it wasn't quite like that - we had changed from 'Product List with Horizontal Dividers' to 'Bare Product List' in preparation for multiple columns. What would be the point of horizontal dividers?

One works, the other doesn't, probably for your reasoning - didn't look.
