Next Product Link in Extended Info Pages

Hi

Using extended info page for full description of product details with add to cart button with product listing just showing thumbnail etc.

Have a Home and Previous Page link at foot of each page and a member of staff suggested that a Next Product link might also be a good idea rather than having to return to section product listing page.

I know there is PrevNextSectionLink variable but there's not anything similar for products.

Have searched forum for extended info page next product links and similar with no success! Has anyone done something similar or is there a post or thread I've missed?

a better solution is to use single product pages (this will allow ease to googlease)

thus structure is

section
subsection
product
subsection
product

then previous/next as per AUG will work

That was considered but as it was an existing site with around a 1000 products in 17 main sections with existing sub-sections and sub-sub-sections and existing extended info page and, already very good google ranking, with about 138 no1 placings, to add an extra sub-section for each product which might damage existing rankings was decided impractical.

Using the extended info page just meant modifying the layouts for section product listing and adding required new variables to extended info page layout and it was done very quickly.

In addition, the extended info page head info and meta tags have been altered to include specific product details which over time should further enhance google page rankings for individual product pages rather than the parent sub-section.

The next product link is more of a wishlist item rather than an absolute must have.
