Hi all

Does anyone have any examples of successful functionality and/or process of temporarily reducing prices for certain products on v9?

I appreciate v9 has discount groups however we would really like to have a "Was £30 Now £15" type functionality and we are currently trying to work out the most efficient and effective way of doing this.

We were thinking about maybe creating a template especially for sale products that can be selected, along with a custom property where we can set the % reduced by, and based on the two aforementioned elements, Actinic would workout and display the "Was £30 Now £15" in place of the standard product price. Just an idea and not sure if it will work?!?!

Any pointers in the right (or any) direction would be appreciated! It may be that using product groups is possible but how do we display the before and after price to the customer BEFORE they add to cart?

The code to do this is already in the forum, the % saving is calculated from the RRP and the product price. Normski provided it, no need to have different layouts, blockifs can show it if you have filled something out, if not it leaves it as it is.

Thanks - I had searched the forum but clearly didn't use the right keywords. I just did a search for "norman and saving" and found this...

Create a product variable called RRP. Store the full price in RRP, and put the actual discounted price in the Actinic price. Then edit the pricing layout to show the RRP variable after the price (in a BLOCK IF so that it only shows if it's not empty). e.g. "Price: £12.99 (RRP: £19.99)". You can put the RRP bit in a paler colour so as not to confuse.

This seems seems like a good way to do it!
