Sync Server Grumble

The sync server is set up by default to operate using IP address and not machine name. Fair enough, but the method for changing it to use machine name instead of IP address (for systems where the IP address is assigned dynamically) involves opening the "ActinicCatalog.mdb" database file and manually editing the "sSynchronizationServerURL" value. Come on guys! This setting is fundamental to the operation of Multi User. We shouldn't have to manually poke the database file. This should be controllable via the "Sync Server Settings" dialog box. What if I don't have MS Access?

I am still waiting after about one month from support to see if I can run the sync server as a standalone on my server along with the site folder, no reply todate
