Best Sellers list related to product group

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew how to alter the best sellers list to be related to your product groups. e.g. when a customer goes into my different brand sections on the site, the best sellers are related to that brand instead of a list of overall products sold. I've search the forum but can't find any info.

Best sellers list is simply a list of the top XX products, regardless of which section of the site they reside within, so not possible to only show them in certain sections of the site with a click of a button I am afraid.

The only thing that springs to mind to possibly do this manually would be...

1. Set best sellers list to show 3 x brands (so 3 times how ever many brands you have).

2. Select and Fix 3 products from each brand within the best sellers list. Note fix them so Actinic does not change them.

3. Create a means to identify what section you are in according to brand - i.e. maybe custom variable assigned to top of the section for each brand to assign it or some other means.

4. Adjust best sellers layout to only show products which match the brand assigned in #3.

Or something like that, but automatically its not possible without block if's and identifying products as within that brand.

If you fix products in the best sellers list as suggested above, you can then reference them individually with blockif BestSellerItem = XX or as a group with blockif Items 7 to 10.
