You need relative links on any page that will be viewed in both http and https ie navigation or GA in the outer layout

If you had a link on your home page to an external link it could be hardcoded to http as the home page should never be called via https

If I recall correctly, you can use absolute links, but remove the http/https from the protocol at the front of the URL like this:

//www.community.actinic.com

This then uses the appropriate method, although I vaguely recall an issue with it within Actinic...

It appears, from practical experience, that Actinic regards any link that does not start with http: or https: as a relative link and will modify it in accordance with its own rules particularly during a web preview and when a page is set as the website home page.
