    Catalogue Generate and/or upload error

    Hello,

I am having difficulty generating and/or uploading a site with Actinic 9.0.5 JHZA.

When I click 'publish to web' Actinic starts to check pages/sections, etc., but appears to 'hang' at around section 1076 but it varies from attempt to attempt sometimes around section 500 but once it made it all the way to section 2056. It is a fairly large site with 5000 sections. Prior to hanging the number on 'sections being checked' counter increases in turn and the CPU usage remains at around 45% (dual core processor), but at the point of hanging the number stops and the CPU usage immediately jumps to 50% and stays there (a couple of times it went to 100% and the whole PC froze).

When you check the SiteHTML folder it has the relevant files up to the point of hanging, and the scripts plus some images files are uploaded.

    Things tried so far:
Preview Site: works ok with no error messages and all pages generated.
Increasing ScriptID, Defraging disk, compacting database, running FileMerge querys as mentioned in other posts on the Forum, turning off EnhancedFTP, uploading to another folder, clean install: tried all of these singularly and in sequence and non made a difference.
Also tried leaving it for 12 hours just incase it was a just me being impatient, but it did not complete the job. Also tried with simimlar layout but only 5 products and this worked ok.

Are there any other suggestions? Is the site to big for v9? (The same product/section quantity worked ok with v8)

    Any thoughts much appreciated. Cheers

I would recommend you contact Actinic support and let them look at the database.

      Hello Duncan,

Thanks for giving it some thought.

I was begining to think that was the only way forward, but you never know if someone has encountered the problem before!

I have come across some similar issues on large sites, larger than yours though but hence the recommendation.
