I am wondering if the process I operate with my client is causing them to lose Also Bought information.

To cut a long story short, as well as managing the design of the site I also make the product updates, and publish the site from my Developer version.

We sometimes update the Catalog Client with my snapshot but not every time.

Do we need to change the process ie I generate the snapshot and then the client updates CC and then publishes the site? And will that keep Also Bought data? (The tags are showing in the basket page, and the settings in Marketing are correct.)

you need to get the database from your client (in site1 called actiniccatalog.mdb) save this somewhere on your pc. Then open your site in developer , file menu, import orders.

This will bring the orders from your clients copy of actinic, you can then regenerate the also boughts.

That works - ie Also Boughts generate properly.

Just one worry... If I publish from my copy, does that over-write the orders that are still on the live version, or interfere with anyhting there?!

When you publish your copy it will not affect the orders.
