I would like to offer a discount code to a small group of customers but am unsure how to set it up to enable them to order anything from our store (approx. 4,000+ products).

We have several discounts set up with groups of products, but if I try to create a product group containing everything, it won't allow me to include products already included in another discount group.

Am I missing something, or is this not possible?

Set it up as an order level discount, this will then discount off anything purchased. You can set fixed amounts or % discounts as well as set minimum orders etc. D

I am very new to this and had totally misunderstood the discounts section. I assumed that each tab had to be completed and thought it strange that I was repeating the same things in each section. I now realise that the deals I have allocated to certain product groups don't need to be included under Order Level. I'm not blond, so put it down to age!!
