I obviously want customers to get an email confirming receipt of the order and saying what I'm doing about it - especially if it's nothing because I'm down with 'flu.
It seems that customers who pay online only get that email if they return to my site after they've gone through the PSP (in my case PayPal).
If it's left to them to press the back button I guess half of them won't bother, but will close the browser.
I gather from Tech support that return to my site can be made automatic. But there would have to be some delay before that happened. Too short and customers would think something had gone wrong, too long and they will close the browser.
How do others manage this?
