issues with V8 (value and items erase and shipping options)

First of all, I continue to have a problem with the "value and items" holding the numbers. Works when selecting and adding to cart, but once the site bounces back to the previous page, both go back to 0. You can press "view cart" and the products are still there. customers think all their items have been deleted.

Second, I have recently changed the shipping charges to be determined by weight. Worked with the zones and rate charts. The cart shows shipping by UPS early in the process. It used to be later in the process. Also, when one does get to the section to choice between UPS and USPS, the drop-down selection shows many UPS and USPS choices, increasing in value with each option.

Can someone help me in laymen terms?

If you'd posted your site's URL that would have saved the trouble of searching your prior posts for www.school-uniforms.com!

Having done that I see no problems on your site in IE or Firefox. The cart summary displays fine throughout.

This is nearly always because you're entering the website / viewing pages without using www. in the url.

URLs without the www. are different from those with www. just as ftp. , blog., smtp., etc are all different.

Most web servers will make up for this mistake by showing the web page anyway. The problem lies with the cookies (where the cart information is stored) as the typical browser security setting are set to block cookies from different web spaces (such as urls with/without www. in this case).

The browser can't access the cookie so the cart summary can't be shown.

The correct way to avoid this is:

1. Always use www. in front of the url. (most external links are set up this way so not using www. is more likely to lead to problems unless you're an expert).

2. You can also set up a .htaccess file to redirect any people using the url without www. to the www. domain. This is quite advanced and not really necessary as long as you do 1. above.
