if you do this you also must have an unsubscribe option too. you must also check with your host what restrictions they place on sending bulk emails. The better solution here is to use an online provider as suggested, vertical response, constant contact and millions of others

There are quite stringent guidelines as to what you can do and what you cant do ie who you are allowed to send marketing emails to etc etc. You should read up on this..

        Email Subscription

        Hi Lorna,

We do this by getting people to email us (see top right of our site) as we manage the newsletter (both subscriptions / unsubscribes) separately from Actinic, we prefer this to the box where any old garbage can be entered.

So, is there no way to do it without subscribing to an external supplier?

              Hi

If you look at YMLP they have a free version which may be all you need.

              http://www.yourmailinglistprovider.com/free.html

We tried vertical response, but kept getting a javascript error, probably interference with one of Normans plug-ins but the paid version of the above works very well indeed for us.

              Regards

              Nigel
