Has anyone got Actinic 9 to work under Crossover for Mac?

    Hi guys,

Pretty much as the title really. I'm fed up of having to boot up VMware in order to work with Actinic. Has anyone had any success in running Actinic in Crossover? If yes, are there any dependencies that need to be installed first? My foray into installing Actinic into Crossover ended abruptly when the installer crashed making me think there needed to be some support files installed first perhaps?

    Anyone any ideas?

Not heard of anyone getting it to work using crossover, but in all honesty, Actinic is built for Windows use, so if you are able to operate it under VMware, then a bonus in my eyes and stick with what works on your Mac.

Thanks Guys. I've been using Actinic under VMWare for the last couple of years. Which is fine. However, as with all Windows installations be them virtual or physical, they need clearing out periodically and re-installing. This is something I'm trying to move away from, hence the Crossover angle.

Crossover does perform well in other apps, with performance being very good when compared with having a full VMware Windows install.

I'll keep playing with it and if I get it to work, I'll post my results.

I haven't used Crossover before, I'll investigate it.

I use a MacBook Pro and have several Windows VMs using SUN's Virtual Box. I found VB so much better than VMWare, especially when starting and stopping machines regally.

        I'll report back on Crossover.
