    Auto email sending problem?

    Hi, can anyone advise me

I have no emails going out either to let me know I have an order, customer receipt order or copy of receipt order. The boxes are ticked in Business Setting/Ordering and an additional email address in the copies box.

Email settings in the advance network setup are also correct. I do get an email when I run a test tho.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Ok. I just placed a test order and this is what popped into your error log

Program = ORDERSCR, Program version = 22690 , HTTP Server = Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora) , Return code = 999 , Date and Time = 2009/09/30 08:09, Internal Errors = Email receipt not sent to customer. Undefined store email address.
Have you set up your email address within actinic?

    Mike

PS. Capturing peoples credit card details on websites is no longer allowed unless you've gone through full PCI compliance. The tests and conditions for this are so strict that you're unlikely to do it. Get a proper PSP account.

        Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response. I am taking payment through Actinic Payments. My mistake, I have capture card details set up in payments and securty, I forgot to delete it from the list. I was wondering why you had to enter card details twice. I do have a secure server tho, and PCI complient but have decided to go the AP route now.

With regards to the email, my email address is in Business Settings/Company/Contact...email address. Should it be anywhere else?

          Hi Jo,

Some one said in an earlier post that the SSL cert was invaild. Seems alright when I look. See attached pic...Are we talking about the same thing?

I have also attached a snapshot of the network setup.

The email thing is odd as I believe you only have to enter it once as you have done.

It's strange becuase the error message is definitely an actinc one as it knows it's the customer email that's not being sent. Actinic have been working on improving their error messages so I had hoped it correctly identified and pointed out the problem.

The next thing I'd check is what Jo suggests above. Make sure the email address you've used is 'on domain' (i.e. from the website domain) and similarly for the smtp server.

One thing to try is to tick the 'username and password required box', clear out the entries you have their and then untick the box again. Actinic sometimes has problems when these values aren't needed but are still specified.

Rewrite the email address in business settings, the amount of times people say it's right and it's not is very very high. Delete the contents of the field, then apply, then add it again, then apply. Then refresh the site. A comma instead of a full stop is a regular mistake.

PS. Your SSL certificate is showing an error as the page contains unauthenticated data.

The error shows on https://www.domain.com but not https://domain.com - check the domain the SSL certificate has been issued to (www or non-www) as well as your network settings. Your certificate has been assigned to http://domain.com - whereas your network settings are http://www.domain.com - ask your SSL certificate provider to change to www, although they are most often than not very reluctant to do this, you may have to purchase a service or a completely new certificate.

I notice the website says the email address is admin@ but the mailto is setup for info@ . Could this be relevant?

Thanks community for your input thus far, but...

Well I'm at a loss. I've tried all the above advise regarding the email issues, then purged and refreshed the site, ordered and reordered and still no emails.

Also I can't see any problems with the SSL cert, tried it with all domain suggestions and seems OK from where I'm sitting. Perhaps I need to get out more. lol

Any further suggestions on this one would be appreciated.

going by mikes observations earlier, you either need to change the script id and restart actinic then upload or purge and refresh. To me something is not recognising the email address in actinic

The Actinic scripts are flakey at best.

                          Thanks Darren, good idea

I'll have to give the script change a go... big job tho,

I'll need to change x3 hardscripts to the cgi-bin on each of 80 different design pages as well! Then a purge refresh.

Should keep me busy for a while.

Don't change them manually again, add the actinic variables instead so things update as you change something in network settings.

                              Hi Lee,

I like the sound of that. So if I got a link to the cart from a page design made in dreamweaver ie LINK = https://www.3dkitchens.net/cgi-bin/c...CTION=SHOWCART - can I add a actinic variables instead. I know a bit, but not a lot.
