Site stopped automatically generating extended info

After some unspecified tinkering by a colleague, my site has now stopped automatically generating extended info pages.

I realise that I posted this at the bottom of another thread, but I really am at my wits end, so I thought I would give it another go.

Which part of the software is it that generates the ext info pages?

Is it likely to be an actinic error or something that my colleague has mucked up?

Is there something as simple as a check box that has been unticked?

I will be really grateful for any help.

What do you mean it stopped "Automatically" generating them?

Ext. Info pages are normally created at product level by the user aren't they?

Normally, as soon as I have imorted a flat file of new products it is simply a question of publishing the site and the extended info pages are there in glorious technocolour!

Something is stopping it doing this. Additionally, If I cange the layout of the extended info page, it simply wont impliment any changes to existing pages

Ah, okay, there was nothing in your OP about a flat file import ;-)

Have you a copy of the file before it started to play up, or is it the same file that you continually update?

Could you compare this file against a back up?

What exactly did your colleague do and have you slapped him/her yet?

The code in your product layout that produces these pages is most likely screwed. Check the extended information links layout, it's borked or missing i suspect. Compare it with the original. Try a different product layout on one product to eliminate the product layout.

I'm almost certain that this is the problem (this was what was being played with). I'll try and fiddle with it and see what the problem is.

Spot on Leehack - The problem was with the Extended Information Links -> Standard Extended Information Page, which was for some reason blank. I was able to copy paste a previous layout and it to worked a treat!

              Thanks a million!
