Additional price as a percentage of product price

Does anyone know if it's at all possible to make an additional price...

i.e. with bells and whistles (+£10)

.. a percentage of the product price rather than a fixed amount?

i.e. with bells and whistles (+10%)

And have Actinic calculate that for you.

I sell ventilation louvres, and we can provide them in any colour but there is a surcharge for this service; lets's say 50% of the cost of the louvre. The louvres come in many different sizes and these sizes can be chosen from a drop-down menu. Problem is I can't simply add one additional amount for all sizes. It needs to add the percentage.

    Size 1: £10 - +£5 for painting
    ..
    ..
    Size 10 £100 - +£5? Nooo!

    + 50% Yes!

I'm sure it can be done somehow, but is it too advanced?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see how you're going to be able to do this without some bespoke programming. Sounds like the sort of thing Gabe may be into, but I don't know of a plug in on the market that would do this.

Have you considered absorbing the painting costs into the product price and just letting people have what ever colour they want?

TBH I'd be put of getting an item painted if it was going to cost me another 50%, so put a positive spin on it. Any colour for the same price...

      possible option:
Could you not do this more manually using a component with 2 attributes.

      Attribute #1 = "Size": 1,2,3,4,5,6,.....10

Attribute #2 = "With Paint": Yes ,no

Then you could set up the permutations so that size 1 with paint = £15, without = £10; size 10 with paint = £150, without = £100.

Possibly not the most elegant method, but with some clever wording and layout it could be made simple for the customer to choose what they want?

Generally a good idea, but many buyers don't want them painted at all, and would be paying extra unnecessarily. If having them unpainted was the exception it would be a valid solution.

That sounds great, just not sure how to do it. Attribute #2 would have to effect price, adding 50%. I've been thinking of setting up two products: louvres, and coloured louvres.
